About
As your therapist, I will provide compassionate listening, creating a safe space for you to talk about problems and concerns as well as develop insight and understanding about your self, relationships, and personal directions. I know that asking for help is not easy, but that when we do, it can make all of the difference with helping us feel better, stronger and more at ease with our selves and our lives.
If you have goals that you want to achieve, we can collaborate and help you to move forward at a pace that is comfortable for you. If you are not sure what your goals are, I would be honored to support you on your journey of exploration.
Professionally, I have over 10 years of experience working with adults and teenagers as a therapeutic counselor serving clients in a variety of areas: private practice, community mental health and residential care. Also, I have been a teacher at North Shore Community College for the past 8 years teaching classes in the Wellness and Healing Certificate program: Music and Healing and Theories of Healing On-line.
I very much enjoy working with and teaching people of all ages. If you are interested in learning about integrative methods for mental and emotional self care and wellness ,I would be happy to guide you in these directions as well.
Personally, I began my own conscious healing process when I was 18 years old living in England, learning yoga and meditation to help me manage stressors and navigate the many directions /pressures that this time of life was presenting to me. Since then I have trained in a variety of methods including Yoga, Meditation, Polarity, EMDR, Clinical Hypnosis, Aura-Soma ( essential oils and color), Music and Sound methods- including but not limited to toning, tuning forks, singing bowls , Hemi-Sync, and the work of Alfred Tomatis and The Listening Program. All of which I draw on for my own self care and well being- body , mind and spirit -and enjoy sharing with clients if he or she are interested in learning to help support their own health and wellness with these directions.
My overall focus is to meet each person where he or she is at, offering support that can help you build on the innate strengths and goodness that lies within each of us.
