About
Allie F. Miller is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the States of Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. He recently relocated to the Wilmington, DE area after spending most of his working life in Southern New Jersey, in the greater Philadelphia, PA area. His current office is located in Trolley Square in Wilmington, DE. He sees individuals, couples, and families and has also facilitated a therapy group for male survivors of childhood sex abuse.
One of his most important “credentials” he brings to his work—and one that does not appear on his résumé—is that he began his own healing journey around age 40, a journey that continues to this day. The expansion and growth he experienced in his work with his therapists and healers caused him to want to assist others who needed a guide or mentor in their healing and recovery. Thus, in mid-life he began to connect with his body by studying massage and energy work; he deepened his own spiritual practice by attending The New Seminary in New York City; and finally he undertook formal studies in psychotherapy at La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA, where in 2002 he received a Master of Arts in clinical-counseling psychological with a concentration in marriage/couples and family therapy. He was the recipient of the Class of 2002 Outstanding Graduate award from the Graduate Clinical-Counseling Psychology Department.
Subsequent to receiving his master’s degree, his undertook additional training and supervision in sex therapy. He also received training in and employed in his clinical practice where appropriate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
