About

With a lifelong heart for kids and teens, I love counseling youth and their families! Using play and art, I’m passionate about uprooting generational lies in both kids and their parents and replacing them with God’s truth. I love seeing families go from simply surviving life’s traumas to thriving in their newfound confidence of who God says they are.

I’ve helped clients of all ages work past struggles with stress, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, behavioral problems, parenting issues, trauma, and abuse. My therapeutic style is relational, inviting, playful, and peaceful. I believe that play is kids’ first language, so I utilize play and art therapies to meet kids where they’re at and help facilitate change via what naturally connects with them. I also believe that caring adults are key in children’s lives, so I will often incorporate the child’s parent or guardian in the therapy to create lasting, systematic change. I look forward to working with you and am confident that, together, we can accomplish your therapeutic goals!

I’ve had a passion for working with kids since I was a kid! I started working with kids when I was very young by teaching swimming, doing camp ministry, volunteering with kids in my church and neighborhood, and nannying. I knew I wanted to pursue a career with children, and naturally assumed that would be education. Fast forward to my senior year of high school, and I volunteered in a classroom where 90% of the children lived below the poverty line. My heart broke as I heard the struggles of their young lives, and God quickly changed my vision from focusing on curriculum to focusing on supporting these children’s emotional, spiritual, and social wellbeing through counseling.

I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Family Studies from Cornerstone University and my Master’s degree in Counseling from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. During my studies, I worked with children internationally in school and orphanage settings. Post graduation, I became a fully Licensed Professional Counselor and worked with clients of a variety of ages and with a variety of needs at a counseling ministry in Holland.

I live in West Michigan with my husband, kids, and dog. We love all things outside, especially the beautiful beaches and parks in our area. Outside of family life, I fill by cup by taking long runs, laughing at corny jokes, baking all the goodies, and enjoying a good cup of coffee.
