About
Hey, I bet you want to know a little bit about me before you come and see me! I love the outdoors (plenty of that here in Hot Springs!) so I am offering outdoor counseling sessions, instead of meeting in the office. Of course, the online option is always there.
As a counselor in Arkansas, I feel blessed when I know that people are becoming more peaceful, motivated, and happy as they learn strategies of healing with me by their side. I have been told I am a friendly and calming person. I am so grateful to be a Christian and have been trained in Christian Counseling as part of my degree and can incorporate that into therapy if you desire.
Every therapist is warm, inviting, and understanding. I’m that, and I want to explain a little bit more about what therapy with me is like. During the first session I will ask you what your goal for therapy is. I will help you think about your reason for coming to therapy in a way that can bring insights, healing, and growth. I have seen how the techniques that I use and teach my clients to use, have helped my clients to thrive. I have used them in my personal life as well! I used to be the ‘queen’ of beating myself up, emotionally. I feel so free, now that I have learned so much about how to change my internal dialogue.
There are many ways to help, but I’ll help you reach your personal goals using a few tools like these:
- Suggesting specific techniques and skills that you can use to improve your relationships
- Helping you identify if/where you are tripping yourself up
- Helping you learn positive ways to communicate exactly what you need to express
Now for the boring stuff: I have worked in outpatient and inpatient settings, treating issues such as depression, anxiety, career challenges, and family conflicts. I started my Masters’ degree at Richmont Graduate University (a Christian university in Atlanta) and then transferred to Henderson State University and graduated in 2011. So now I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor.
