About

My clinical experience has spanned a wide range of settings and experiences allowing me to engage with a diverse array of clients. It has been a privilege to work in such a wide range of settings. In the community, I have worked in a youth mental health center and in private practice. I have also worked in a range of forensic settings, including probation, corrections, and in civil commitment. I am also licensed as a sex offender treatment provider.

My broad range of clinical experience remains rooted in my passion and commitment to help all types of clients who are dealing with a wide variety of mental health and life issues. I love working with both adolescents and adults.

My personal interests also span an assortment of hobbies and study. I am an avid foodie, baker, and gamer. Collecting and building LEGOs from all eras is also a great love of mine. Currently, I am busy studying the art of dog training in order to help my Golden Retriever puppy, Bowdon, become a therapy dog for Arrow. I love spending time with my family and three cats that we rescued from local shelters, and I love to travel and explore the world as often as I can.

The hallmark of the therapeutic relationship is authenticity--that is you should feel the joy of being seen and heard and the freedom of expressing and discovering your true self. With each client, I strive to create a space of genuine collaboration in a nonthreatening environment filled with trust and mutual respect.

My therapeutic approach incorporates evidence-based practices to help you build your own toolkit of coping skills. I integrate a variety of theoretical orientations and tailor them to your own unique circumstances in order to keep you moving forward toward your goals.

Ultimately, therapy doesn't have to be intimidating; I bring humor, warmth, and empathy to my sessions to help you feel at home, valued, and listened to. Cultural sensitivity is a critical part of all my work, and my goal is always for you to feel empowered to be an agent of positive change in your own life.
