About

I do not consider myself the average therapist because I do not sit around and say “Hmm, tell me more”. Instead, I take a very assertive style and want to encourage you to make changes in your life as quickly and effectively as possible. You need to want to make changes in your life before I can truly help you. I usually give homework assignments and expect them to be done. You see me for 53 minutes to 1 hour, but the majority of the work is done outside of the session with the techniques and tools we discuss during our sessions. I share my time between video and face to face counseling. I also offer recommendations for Emotional Support Animals. I seek to walk alongside individuals and couples, showing hope and direction for changed lives which enables me to be a benefit to you during this time of need. I am a Christian counselor which means I direct you to God, the Bible and faith to help you heal, progress and find hope. I will not force you to believe what I believe, but I do want you to know where I come from. I have been seeing clients since 2013 both in Texas and Colorado. My therapy practices and techniques have also grown and matured throughout this time.

Hopefully, I can help you. I recognize the process is not easy and sometimes its just plain difficult.

I was born and raised in Texas, graduated from Trinity Christian Academy in 1982. I have a BA in Elementary Education and in Spanish from The University of Texas with a Life Time Teaching Certificate and a Masters of Art in Counseling from Wayland Baptist University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. I have been married for over 25 years and we have two grown daughters. I enjoy hiking, painting, gardening and quilting. I love learning about different cultures and people groups. I have lived in 4 countries and have traveled to over 35 countries. On my bucket list is to go to Iceland. My husband is retired and works full time on our “fixer upper” home on the westside of Colorado Springs. I want to personally thank you for deciding to change your life and become healthier and/or deciding to have a stronger marriage. Together we will take one step at a time towards making your world more understandable, full of hope and joyful. Thank you for considering me to walk alongside of you on your journey.
