About
Jolene is originally from Southern California, but has called many states across the U.S. home, including a 3-year adventure living in Okinawa, Japan. After visiting family in Hawai’i for years, she moved to O’ahu permanently in 2017. Jolene earned her Bachelors in Counseling Ministry and Masters in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and a concentration in Professional Clinical Counseling from California Baptist University.
Asking for help takes courage, and taking the first step towards feeling like yourself again starts here. Jolene provides a supportive and accepting environment that provides the freedom to express feelings and a place to feel safe and comfortable. She has experience working with anxiety, anger issues, cancer support, co-dependence, depression, family conflicts, pre-marital counseling, marital relationships and stress. She uses a variety of therapeutic techniques including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Faith-Based Counseling, Person-Centered Therapy, Play Therapy and SYMBIS Pre-Marital Counseling.
As a wife and mother, she knows that life can sometimes be a struggle on this journey, and understands what it is like to hurt, and to be hurt. Married for 37 years, she understands the joys and the challenges of marriage and can help couples through the ups and downs of married life. As a parent of two children, she has a genuine understanding of the added challenges children bring to the family relationship coupled with the added stress of homeschooling them.
As a military spouse, Jolene is personally familiar with the uniqueness of the military lifestyle. Traveling the world and experiencing other cultures has provided her the understanding and the desire to help individuals, couples, families and children. She knows the heartache of deployments and the stresses of living away from family, and raising children alone.
Jolene truly cares about people and the challenges they may be going through. She believes that relationships are worth fighting for and welcomes the opportunity to walk alongside and help clients through these challenging times. As a Christian, Jolene knows the value of loving unconditionally and provides a place to “come just as you are”, share your story, and offer you a listening ear with empathy, understanding, and no judgement. Helping you find the peace and joy you once experienced is her goal, so you can move past the hurt and find healing and rest.
