About

My mission is to bring hope, healing and wholeness through counseling and equipping you. I endeavor to empower you to live with more peace, joy, and destiny purpose. I help you to overcome struggles and difficulties that may be holding you back from being all you are meant to be.

I earned my Master of Science (MS) degree in Counseling and Human Resource Development at South Dakota State University and have been practicing counseling since 1995. In 2013, I completed a Doctorate of Ministry (DMin) at Sioux Falls Seminary that deepens and expands my knowledge in counseling, especially in the areas of stress, trauma, grief, and attachment. My dissertation focuses on the decision-making process of women in crisis pregnancy as it relates to her attachment style. Attachment style is the way we think, feel, and act in response to stress.

Within a compassionate and a non-judgmental atmosphere, I help to heal the underlying wounds or struggles that keep getting in the way of living life to the fullest. I provide practical tools, support, and feedback to help persons effectively address personal life challenges. In this safe and caring environment, I facilitate the healing process to help "move-on" in one's life. I integrate complimentary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each person. I utilize Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and techniques including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Mindfulness practices. Attachment Theory and Emotionally-Focused treatment shape the relationship counseling. And, various inner healing methods can be used, as appropriate.
