Dr. Montgomery has provided a variety of mental health services to children, adolescents and parents for over 10 years. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Montgomery has experience supervising graduate level interns, has conducted and presented original research to mental health professionals and has served as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Written Clinical Examination development process. In his free time, Dr. Montgomery enjoys photography, film, music, developing new culinary skills, and spending time with his family.
A note about my work as a psychologist:
"I practice cognitive-behavioral therapy, which is an evidence-based treatment that focuses on evaluating and modifying thoughts as a strategy for changing the way we feel and behave. Additionally, as a child, adolescent and parenting specialist, my work also focuses on family relationships and patterns of communication—and how these can be modified to help parents be more effective. This in turn helps children and adolescents experience safety and support at home while developing healthy patterns and habits that will help them accomplish their goals in life.
My ultimate goal with clients is to provide a safe and supportive treatment relationship that allows for meaningful self-exploration, problem solving, skill building and healthy psychological, behavioral and interpersonal development."
