About
Intuitive, eclectic, practical and holistic describe my approach to counseling. I bring both teaching and counseling experience to my work with individuals, couples, families and groups in my private practice.
I’ve served as a family therapist at New Mexico Suicide Intervention Project-Sky Family Counseling Center, working with students-at-risk and their families. As co-director of two educational centers – the Center for RelationaLearning in Santa Fe, and the Las Palomas Multicultural Learning Center in Taos and Santa Fe – I advocate for a relational, innovative approach to teaching, learning, and community capacity-building to seek authentic change, increase people’s understanding of the world and their own creativity.
For 20 years I was Director of the historic Mabel Dodge Luhan House in Taos NM where I developed and led workshops on creativity and leadership, and oversaw publication of catalogues, books and papers. During this period I also completed a sweat lodge apprenticeship with Sandy Crawford who was trained at Picuris Pueblo.
Currently, in hosting bi-annual international Learning Journeys tours to Northern New Mexico and in hosting an International Dialogue Conference, I was able to emphasis the importance of self-development in new relationally-based leadership.
My passion is helping people discover their creativity and authenticity through individual, couples and group exploration of themselves and their inherent spirituality. My extensive appreciation and experience with indigenous cultures and their challenges leads me to interactions beyond the mainstream and into the transcendent.
