Sharon A. Heno M.Ed,LPC-S,NCC is a Professional Counselor licensed in the State of Louisiana and certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors. She received a Masters in Counseling from the University of New Orleans and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Loyola University. Ms. Heno is Owner and Supervisor of Behavioral Health Counseling & Consulting. Through her practice she shares her passion and vision for helping others. Her practice is part of this vision where she has brought together a team of professionals working for a common goal. Each therapist has talents in different areas allowing for comprehensive services to be available for multiple ages and conditions. Her goal is to use the Wellness model being proactive and preventative in her treatment modules.

Ms. Heno has worked in clinical, community , and school settings serving individuals and families. In her work she offers couples and individual counseling for adolescents and adults. Her treatment focus is for those anxiety, depression, grief , mood, personality disorders, and relationship issues. In her work Ms. Heno also offers coaching for those struggling to manage their ADHD ( all types). Understanding that each case is unique Sharon works with coaching and skill building to support families and individuals in their decision to use or not use medication.

Ms. Heno’s work with individuals is person centered in meeting the clients where they are and collaberating with them as they move past obstacles in thier lives. In her work with outreach programs she has served on various crisis teams and as a trauma specialist responding and working with victims of trauma due to grief, loss or violence. Ms. Heno also works with local hospitals and community centers offering supportive services to individuals and families with degenerative and terminal illnesses. She has extensive training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Trauma Focused work (TF-CBT).

Ms. Heno is an interactive, solution-focused therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. Some interventions include CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), DBT, TF-CBT and Imago therpay modalities. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
