About

I've always wanted to incorporate animals into therapeutic activities. My family has 4 dogs and 2 cats, all rescues and I volunteer at APS of Durham. Animal assisted therapy is generally done with the therapist's personal animal. For our sessions, we can meet in your Durham /RTP/ Southpoint area home and have your pet with you , developing more emotional support, or in my home office...it's your time and we can decide what works best for you. And if you're considering adoption, I'd love to help you find the perfect SoulMutt of your own to love and care for.

I graduated in Psychology from the University of Illinois in 1986. After working in medical rehabilitation for some years, I completed my masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling in 1998 from California State Los Angeles. I became a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, which focuses on employment, accommodations and increasing independence for individuals with disabilities. My focus shifted towards mental health counseling working with young children, adolescents, parents and adults.
