About

I have a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Converse College. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate, license number 6785, registered with the Board of Examiners for Marriage and Family Therapy through the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation.

I am originally from Norman, Oklahoma where I lived for 30 years. I have a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Oklahoma in Psychology with a focus in Counseling. I started graduate school in Edmond, Oklahoma working towards a Master's Focus of Marriage and Family Therapy. I moved to Spartanburg, South Carolina to attend Converse College for my Master's Degree because the college is highly accredited by the Coalition on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Education. I was a student member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and I am now a Pre-Clinical Fellow with AAMFT.

The main idea that centers and grounds my style of therapy is Everyone does the best they can with the information they have at the time. It is my job to help clients discover new information that will help them make the choices they want to be making. I am open to and supportive of all cultures, nationalities, creeds, and preferences. My therapy room will always be a place of inclusion, support, and safety. Methods of therapy I have the most experience with are Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy created by Dr. Sue Johnson and the Gottman Method Couples Therapy designed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman. These are both rigorously researched and shown to be extremely effective methods for working through any issues that may arise in a romantic relationship. My current specialties include romantic relationships, sexuality, and sexual struggles.

While my specialty is couples therapy, I have extensive experience working with individuals with a range of struggles and diagnoses. From short-term adjustment issues to significant depression to severe problems with complicated diagnoses, I can help you live a more content and less stressful lifestyle.
