About

With a Ph.D., in Consciousness Studies, a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling, and a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology and Philosophy, Louise is well-rounded in her knowledge of mental health. A firm believer in incorporating the whole self in treatment, Louise takes a holistic approach when providing therapy.

Louise is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Idaho, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon, and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. She is a member of the American Counseling Association, the National Board for Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists, and the World Professional Association for Transgender Health.

Louise’s vision as a mental health professional is to be able to incorporate a holistic approach in her practice. She recognizes the uniqueness of each individual, and believes that combining knowledge of traditional as well as holistic counseling will greatly benefit her clients.

Louise acknowledges the value that there are so many aspects that make up the whole. She believes that to help an individual recover and improve their mental health, the individual has to be seen as unique, where all of the aspects of the self need to be taken into consideration. She believes that education in traditional counseling is effective, but not sufficient. Louise wishes to be able to add to her knowledge of traditional counseling, and to be able to contribute to the field of holistic health. She believes that considering spirituality in each individual is very important, because a person’s belief system greatly influences their perspective.

When Louise is not providing mental health services or learning new ways to enhance her skills in the field, she enjoys playing the harp. She is presently the principal harpist with the Meridian Symphony and Serenata Symphony, and has also played with Opera Idaho, the Treasure Valley Symphony, No Greater Love Symphony, Music Theatre of Idaho, and Boise Music Week.
