About

Dr. Gold has been practicing for over 20 years. Her work on couple relationships and EFT supervision has been published in professional journals, and she has presented her work on EFT and infidelity at national and international conferences (AAMFT and ICEEFT). She is Arizona’s only EFT Certified Therapist who is also a AASECT Certified Sex Therapist.

Dr. Gold has developed a new model of therapy: Integrated Experiencing (IE). IE is a model of integrated treatment that acknowledges and addresses the inextricable systemic relationships between the mind, body, spirit and inter-personal relationships. It applies the principles and interventions of EFT to modalities that are effective at releasing physical distress and trauma from the body. By integrating treatments and interventions from sports medicine and holistic treatments, the brain and body are engaged in parallel processes of growth and healing. This integrated approach facilitates people having an integrated understanding of themselves and their relationships. It supports them in being able to take effectively shift out of distressing patterns into new patterns that they want for themselves and their relationships.

All therapists at AZRI are trained and supervised by Dr. Gold. She views video excerpts of their sessions and provides periodic live supervision with feedback to therapists during sessions.

Dr. Gold’s work on relationships and sexual intimacy, and her work on training relationship therapists in these areas of specialization, have been published in professional journals, and presented at national and international professional conferences, She has trained personally with Dr. Sue Johnson, author of Hold Me Tight and Lovesense and founder of Emotionally Focused Therapy.

In 2014, Dr. Gold founded The Arizona Relationship Institute (AZRI) : An integrated treatment outpatient facility providing EFT and EMDR integrated treatment to individuals, couples, families and groups. She served as the executive director for AZRI until 2021, training and supervising the therapists. She continues to serve as Director of Training, providing ongoing training and consulting to the AZRI therapists on EFST, EFT Integrated Treatment and Psychedelic Integrated Treatment.

Dr. Gold provides trainings for therapists on using EFT and integrating EFT with other therapy models and modalities, in treating emotional and sexual intimacy. She teaches therapists to assist individuals and couples in healing from various forms of trauma and conditioning that impair their ability to create a secure, passionate, intimate connection. She was Arizona’s first EFT certified therapist and first Arizona EFT supervisor, and was instrumental in bringing the first EFT trainings to Arizona. She is also a founding member of The Arizona EFT Community, serving on the board for many years, and assisted with the AZEFT Externship and Core Skills trainings. Dr. Gold has taught at several universities and colleges, including teaching and providing supervision in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Virginia Tech. She has also served as an expert consultant for the Phoenix and Mesa Veterans’ Centers.
