About
From a young age, I knew I wanted to help others. While in my undergraduate studies, I found my calling when I discovered psychology, and I haven’t looked back since. I completed my undergraduate at the University of Iowa in 2006 and went on to my Masters in Mental Health, finishing in 2009. I worked as a Substance Abuse counselor and then as a private clinician in the Des Moines area until 2016. Since 2016 I have been working for the Iowa Army National Guard as a behavioral case manager, helping service members find and maintain relationships with service providers all across Iowa. It's through my work with the Guard that I found myself craving the fulfillment of seeing clients reach their full emotional potential and, in 2020, I decided to begin my own private practice.
I provide a comprehensive set of services to help boost your confidence and offer support as you confront your mental health challenges. I have experience working with a variety of issues, including Borderline Personality Disorder, Anger Management, and military trauma. I work with clients closely in order to build and achieve their goals, using an intuitive and comprehensive approach tailored to an individual or couple's specific needs. I strive to create an environment of nurturing and healing as we navigate your life's journey together.
On a more personal note, I live with my partner of 8 years, our amazing tiny human, and our two rescue doggies. I thoroughly enjoy bingeing on Netflix and Hulu, making tasty treats with my son, and spending time with my extended family. I have a passion for photography and literature, two hobbies that allow me to feed my creativity and fill my emotional bucket.
