About
I have earned two Master’s Degrees, one in Psychology and one in Professional Counseling, from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. Over the last ten years, I have worked with men, women and teens both individually as well as in group settings. I lead intensive, experiential weekends for men, speaks at father and son retreats, and work individually with men and women in the areas of depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, Sports Performance Training, pornography use, addiction, spirituality, anger/rage, childhood abuse, and intimacy/attachment deficits. I work regularly with the Father’s Heart Weekend, Samson Society, and the New Adam Weekends. I am licensed in the State of Tennessee as a Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service Provider designation.
I also have twenty three years of experience and a love for working with youth. As an elementary school teacher for twenty three years, I have served the Franklin, Tennessee community passionately in my love for kids and their well-being. I work with teenagers in conventional therapy, EMDR trauma therapy as well as Sports Performance Training.
I am a former athlete, having played high school, college and professional baseball. I coached college baseball for five years after my playing career ended. I work with high school and college athletes, as well as professional athletes in the development of their psychological approach to their chosen sport. Helping athletes visualize success in their sport is a passion of mine and I look forward to working with more athletes in the future.
I am also qualified to administer EMDR (Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing) which is a trauma based therapeutic modality that allows the individual to reprocess traumatic events from his or her past. This modality has a high success rate and extensive research has been performed in this area to validate the effectiveness of this technique. I have completed the basic training Weekends 1 & 2, as well as Advanced Training in EMDR in the area of Attachment.
