About

Hi there, I am Kristen and I am a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner and Licensed Professional Counselor. More specifically I am a person who takes great pleasure in working with people to help them to spark happiness and relieve the stressors in their lives.

I enjoy working with people during all phases of their lives but I have a few areas that I would call my passion areas. These have evolved as a result of my personal experiences as well as the trends from my clients over the years that encouraged me to seek out higher levels of training to best serve them.

I received my Master of Science in Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2009. Over the last 12 years I have completed many trainings in a variety of areas including perinatal mental health, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) though Postpartum Support International, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as in the last phase of my certification to be certified as a sex therapist.

My partner, Edgar and I are the parents of a blended family of eight adorable and naughty kids aged 6 to 13 who we share raising with their other parents. In this new chapter of our lives I am discovering the things that make me shine. I am exploring my passions and have thus far learned that I love salsa dancing, reading romance and adventure books, traveling and am currently working on learning Spanish.
