About

Hi! I'm Kathleen Musca, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in the heart of Maplewood, MO. I have training in various treatment modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral therapy, Mindfulness, and Trauma Focused Therapy. In my practice, I incorporate a blend of these and other therapeutic techniques, to meet the unique needs of each individual.

My clients include high school aged teenagers, and adults 18 and up. I help clients who are struggling with symptoms of anxiety and depression, feelings of low self-esteem and self-worth, difficult relationships, major life decisions or changes, stress, grief, trauma, and more.

In a session with me, you can expect a safe and calming environment, where you can sort through your thoughts and feelings, your struggles and stresses, with professional, therapeutic input. I will provide you with unbiased, compassionate support. Together, we will determine a focus for therapy, based on your wants and needs, and identify the best strategies to achieve these goals. I believe that wellness is a journey of ups and downs that requires commitment and consistency, and that you do not have to be on that journey alone!

My background began as a high school teacher in the city of St. Louis. This lead me to recognize my strengths of relationship building, compassion, and as my students and their parents always said, just being "easy to talk to!" I left the classroom to pursue my Masters in Social Work with a mental health focus at Washington University in St. Louis. Since then, I received my clinical license, and have been providing therapy in St. Louis City and County through a non-profit organization for the last five years. I opened my practice, New Leaf STL, in January of 2018.
