About

Kasia Wereszczynska, LCPC, NCC, RYT, Eagala Certified MHP, founder of Counseling Speaks, LLC, a multicultural group practice serving the Chicago metropolitan with additional locations in Park Ridge, Barrington, and Lake Forest. She has an extensive training and 15+ years’ experience in crisis intervention, cognitive-behavioral therapy and positive psychology. She has provided counseling to a culturally diverse population serving the South Side of Chicago and the North Shore area. Kasia provides the integration of her passion for counseling, horses, and yoga when working with individuals experiencing feelings of sadness, nervousness, constant worry, and difficulties managing stress, by developing a more positive outlook on life, building stronger relationships with self and others and learning to be their best self. Mrs. Wereszczynska is also an international and keynote speaker with noted presentations in the USA, Europe and Canada based on her areas of expertise: “The Cost of Caring: Compassion Fatigue, Vicarious Trauma and Burnout” and “Rising Above: A multicultural approach to mentoring women towards successful careers in counseling and psychology.” In addition, she has spoken about Mental Wellness and Stress Management for various organizations and provided yoga workshops at hospitals, women’s retreats and in corporate settings. In 2011, she founded, In Her Shoes Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that empowers and inspires every woman and girl to be her personal best.

Wereszczynska has dedicated the last 18 years working to break racial barriers and to provide communities with hope. She has a history of working in various settings including the mental health court system with cook county jail, hospital emergency room, community mental health agencies, and both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric hospital settings. She works to build a healing environment that helps facilitate personal growth and positive change. Kasia has extensive training and experience in crisis intervention, cognitive-behavioral therapy and positive psychology. Her areas of specialty include anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, self esteem concerns and stress management.
