About
Counseling is a collaborative process that we, you and I, use to actively construct a way of living. Sometimes our conversations will reveal previously unseen solutions and perspectives. Anything that I propose is yours to question, modify, elaborate, or reject. You are a unique person who is the expert on yourself and your life. You know what has worked and what has not worked for you. Maybe, through shared inquiry and mutual effort, we can discover new possibilities. I hold hope of this even before we meet. Life is an ongoing practice, made more meaningful and less confusing when engaged in authentic dialogue with each other. I would be honored to visit with you and find what we may.
Some of the filters through which I view the world are feminist, existentialist, and humanist. Counseling theories from which I draw include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Collaborative Language Systems. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and committed to the promotion of dignity for all people.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Oklahoma City University. My clinical internship was completed at A Chance to Change.
Prior to becoming a counselor, I spent 24 years in business and non-profit settings. After completing my clinical internship, I entered private practice where I have collaborated with individuals and couples on a wide range of issues and concerns. I currently have openings available for adults who are 18 or older and a limited number of couples. Some of the people who I consult with identify as LGBTQIA+, secular, non-monogamous, or/and kinky. I adhere to the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) standards of care.
