About

My approach to therapy is person-centered, strengths based, solution focused, trauma informed, and culturally competent. I practice from a humanistic and existential theoretical orientation. From the Positive Psychology movement, I try to focus on what people do right for their health and wellness, rather than focusing on what is “wrong with them.” My goal is not to “fix” people instead I work with them to discover the best approach that “fits” them. I believe in a holistic approach to improving health and wellness, including integrated work on the mind, body, spirit, and shadow. I teach and adhere to an integrated health and wellness practice that addresses all the domains of a person’s existence: social, emotional, occupational, financial, relationships, intellectual, mental, emotional, physical, and environmental.

From a holistic approach to wellness, I actually practice or have practiced what I also suggest to my clients. I approach health & wellness through many domains. My previous and current interests and activities include Yin Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Martial Arts, Exercise, New Kadampa Tradition Buddhism, Guided Meditation, Organic Non-GMO Nutrition, Acupuncture, Sound Bath Meditation, Mindfulness, Cosmology, Reiki, and spirituality or religion. I am always seeking to learn about the way the world’s faiths inform people’s values and beliefs and provide them with hope, meaning, purpose, connection, community, and a sense of belonging. I believe religion and spirituality have a purpose for human beings, for some it is a way to learn a moral philosophy (virtue ethics).

I recently graduated with a Master of Science degree from the University of Vermont Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. I am trained in a (person-centered, culturally-competent, trauma-informed, motivational enhancement, cognitive-behavioral) approach to psychotherapy.

I am a VT non-licensed & non-certified psychotherapist practicing under supervision by Caroline O’Connor, LCMHC. I am listed on the VT professional roster. I am currently pursuing two licenses to practice clinical mental health counseling and alcohol and drug abuse counseling. I am also licensed as an apprentice addiction professional for a VT Hub Opioid Use Disorder outpatient treatment program. I am insured by Healthcare Professional Services Org. I am a PESI certified Tele mental health care provider.
