About
I believe that YOU are the expert on your story. My job as a therapist is to help you understand your story and when needed, teach you how to change your perspective. I believe that within each person lies the answer to their problems. My role is to help guide you through that journey.
I'm am licensed as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC) in the state of Utah. I am also certified as a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S) and working toward my certification in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I specialize in working with children, teens, and their families as well as working with adults dealing with various problems.
I'm a midwestern girl at heart that relocated to Utah 22 years ago to attend Utah State University. I completed my bachelors degree in Psychology in 2001. After taking some time off to start a family with my husband I returned to school in 2006 and completed my Master of Science in Counseling from the University of Phoenix in 2009. It was during my internship that I realized that I enjoyed working with children, teens, and their families. In 2012 I earned my Registered Play Therapy Certificate. I am currently the only therapist in Cache Valley that can boast this specific training certificate. In 2013, I was asked to join the board for the Utah Associate for Play Therapy were I have been happily serving since. I have been in private practice for 12 years now. I have worked with various populations since finishing school but would consider myself best at working with individuals, children, teens, and families.
When I'm not at work I can be found enjoying time with my family or enjoying various forms of exercise such as triathlons, road biking, and group fitness classes. I enjoy a challenge and I am always creating new goals for myself personally and professionally.
