About

Helping people heal from the past and improve for the future is the passion that has driven me through two decades of service in behavioral health, prior to establishing Sycamore Wellness.

I specialize in therapy with children & adolescents ages 10-17 years old and adults, providing individual, couples, and group therapy options. Other services options include consultation to families, organizations, and institutions to help establish healthy places to thrive. Serving as a clinical consultant and therapist to the unique needs of federal and local law enforcement, firefighters, and their families is among my specialties.

Services are offered safely in-person or via Telehealth.

My treatment philosophy is to respect that you are the expert in your own life and I am here to help you unlock your possibilities. I will help you to better understand patterns of behaviors and thoughts that may be limiting you, while developing strategies, skills, and power to be your best. And, I work with families to establish an understanding of what their loved one is going through, strategies for supporting, and ways to lift the helplessness of not knowing what to do next. Years of working in psychiatric crisis care lends me as a good support to families who face a mental health emergency with their child and don't know what to do. I approach my work from a systems perspective—working with individuals in the context of the culture, families, supports and communities in which they live and work.

And for kids and teens, therapy is an inviting place to learn about themselves. Sessions often focus on learning about patterns of thinking that make things more difficult, identifying and managing complex emotions, communicating emotions, and exploring ways to work through hard feelings and tough topics while building self esteem and confidence. The parent/guardian relationship is very important and I communicate frequently with you on progress, concerns and new developments in treatment as we go along. Working together promotes healthy development!

I live in Westerville with my husband; our four adult children and one granddaughter living nearby. Our three dogs, Mosley, Ellie, and Daisy keep us busy! I am a proud graduate of The Ohio State University where I earned a Masters degree in Social Work. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisor designation in the State of Ohio and I teach Master-level courses at The Ohio State University in the College of Social Work.
