About
I am originally from Montana where I grew up playing outside and fishing in many of the beautiful rivers. In an "attempt to find myself," after graduating high school, I moved to California where I attended Chapman University and received my B.A. while also pursuing my love of the arts. After a decade in CA and many trials and tribulations, I learned my true calling was in psychology and went full-steam ahead!
I graduated with my M.A. in Psychology with Marriage and Family Therapy Emphasis from Chapman University in 2010. During my graduate education, I attended trainings with Dr. Daniel Siegel in Brentwood, CA and discovered a love for interpersonal neurobiology. During these trainings, I became aware of an approach called Somatic Experiencing® that resonated so deeply with me on so many levels, especially its integration of biology and neuroscience into clinical practice. Therefore, shortly after graduating, I began my three year long process of training to become a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, which has become the key focus of my work. During that time, I also pursued advanced core skills training in Emotionally Focused Therapy as I desired to become a highly effective couples therapist.
Returning to the mountains and a quieter pace of life, I moved to Colorado in 2013 and am now a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Colorado (MFT0001214) and California, and am a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner. I absolutely love my work with individuals who often have complex histories of trauma, and have developed a niche in synthesizing Somatic Experiencing® and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy in working with couples of whom one or both have suffered traumatic experiences that impact their relationship.
