About

I am Bryan P. Range owner of B.P.R. Therapy, Mediation & Coaching Services. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) trained in Brainspotting and hold several certifications; Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), Certified Family Trauma Professional (CFTP), certified in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Divorce Mediator and Collaborative Law as a Coach and Child Specialist. I am a first-generation college student (TRIO alumni) and I received my Bachelors at Eastern Illinois University (graduated with honors), Masters of Arts in Family Therapy (MAFT) from St. Louis University (a Jesuit University) and currently working on my doctorate at the University of Iowa (Big 10 and R1 institution); All But Dissertation (ABD). My research interest include trauma and its effects on development on an individual and systemic scale. My article Mass Trauma in the African American Community: Using Multiculturalism to Build Resilient Systems is an example of my work.

A significant part of my research included training elementary school staff in the trauma-informed approach and fostering an environment that is trauma-informed. I am currently undergoing training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have also been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) by (Dr. Christine Padesky). As a mediator, I have been trained by Rebecca T. Magruder M.S.W., J.D, a very well known and established mediator in the St Louis area. I shadowed Ms. Magruder over the course of several months upon completion of my mediation training, completed a course in Family Law in St. Louis University Law school, and volunteered in the Domestic Relations department of St. Louis County for several months as well. I am a roster mediator for Mediation Services of Eastern Iowa (MSIE). I have received both basic and advance training (trained by Pauline Tesler & Forest Mosten) in Collaborative Law as a Coach and Child Specialist..

I am also completing my training in group and personal training through the American Council of Exercise (ACE) and will be provided Life Coaching services in the near future. My passion for this work comes from my own traumatic upbringing, particularly my own parent's tumultuous divorce, and my experience as a Black male in America which has developed in me a strong desire to help prevent and reduce the unfair treatment, pain, and suffering of others.

The mission of my company is to reduce and prevent the harmful effects of trauma. My vision is to inspire others to be trauma-informed. My purpose is to educate others on the effects, prevention and recovery of trauma.
