About

Since 2002 I have had the privilege of providing counseling services to the individuals and couples of Hot Springs and central Arkansas. If you have obstacles and patterns in your life or relationships that are keeping you from experiencing a healthy and fruitful life, I would be glad to visit with you about how I might be able to help you.

Prior to becoming a counselor, I spent 17 years in the marketplace as a small business owner. I understand the stresses that you face trying to balance personal life, work, family, and all the other daily issues that pull at you. I have lived it myself. My 40-year marriage has also been one of the best growing and learning experiences that any counselor seeking to help others with relationship challenges can hope for.

I have been in private practice since 2000. I am licensed at the Masters level as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Arkansas. I received my Masters in Counseling from Denver Seminary in 1999. Over the years I have developed expertise in doing therapy with teens and adults in an eclectic interpersonal style.

My counseling practice has focused on working with individuals and couples to aid them in identifying what might be holding them back, aid them in maturing their life skills and learning communication, and conflict resolution skills that will enhance their relationships.

Seek experienced help. I can bring a mature and earnest approach while identifying and uncovering the root causes of issues and obstacles to real change. Real change happens from the inside/out.

My counseling practice serves individuals, couples, and families in Central Arkansas. While I welcome and work with clients from a variety of spiritual backgrounds or with no spiritual preferences, I do have a Christian worldview that informs how I understand people, problems, and life's difficulties along with solutions as I serve my clients. This orientation informs how I use and implement proven and effective treatments and interventions commonly found in the field of psychology and counseling.

My goal as a therapist is to help people move towards maturity in all walks of their lives.

I am able to help my clients feel safe, to avoid placing blame, and to create a dialogue about what solutions look like, regardless of the source of the problem. Resolving the impact of guilt, shame and self-doubt are keys to living a full and mature life.

There are many reasons why people seek therapy, from a recent crisis to just looking for some help working through life’s many milestones. I have experience treating a wide range of clinical issues. My style is empathetic and warm, but also hands-on with real solutions.

As a therapist, my hope is to come alongside each person, couple, or family during times of challenge to help them find direction and healing. Everyone has a story to tell, and everyone needs the opportunity to have their story heard. In times of crisis, the ability to have someone who understands what you are going through can serve as a catalyst for change and a better life. Our past experiences do not define us and our future is not yet written. Help is available and you are not alone. We can work towards building your life in a way that is authentic, fulfilling, and purposeful.

Life can be hard, relationships are challenging, and struggles are real. In my counseling experience, having a trained and caring person to walk with you through the difficult times is a key to change and success.
