About
Brooke Beroth graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Secondary Major in Sociology and a Minor in Spanish in 2012 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 2014, she graduated with a Master of Social Work and a Graduate Certificate in Addictions Studies from the University of South Carolina College of Social Work.
Brooke is a Licensed Independent Social Worker – Clinical Practice, a Licensed Addiction Counselor, a Certified Addictions Counselor, and a Master Addictions Counselor. Brooke is a Nationally Certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) Therapist and is currently pursuing certification as a Certified Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) Therapist. Brooke has also demonstrated competency in Modified Interpersonal Group Psychotherapy (MIGP).
Brooke’s focus has primarily been on children, adolescents and families, but she enjoys working with diverse client populations. Brooke has experience and specialized training in substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and trauma. Brooke has worked with a varied population to help achieve their goals and meet their needs. Brooke also has extensive experience working with students and the school district, and is able to students and their families navigate the complexities of the educational system.
Brooke works from the disease model of addiction framework. Brooke has a solid understanding of substance use disorders and their treatment. Brooke believes in looking at addiction through the biological, psychological, sociological, spiritual and experiential (BPSSEM) expressions of the disease.
Brooke believes in providing support and encouragement as she walks along clients to achieve their goals. She recognizes the courage and bravery that it takes to seek our best selves. Whether clients are going through a period of transition or life change, or just engaging in counseling as a form of self-care, Brooke challenges clients to use their inner strengths to live out their most genuine life. She encourages clients to find balance through self-care and wellness. Brooke utilizes evidence-based practices to improve quality of services and outcomes. Brooke will identify an individualized plan of care to meet your own specific needs.
Brooke was born and raised a Tar Heel, and firmly believes that Carolina is located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Brooke loves books, board games, ice cream, weekends, and DIY projects. Brooke also enjoys spending time with her furry, four-legged family members, Winston and Piper.
