About

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor based in Washington, DC. Through my experience and training, I have developed specializations in grief and loss, trauma, and couples and family therapy.

During my years with a local hospice as the grief counselor for the inpatient unit, I pursued my certification in Thanatology (the study of death education) through the Association for Death Education and Counseling. I am also a certified Compassionate Bereavement Care provider through the MISS Foundation (MISSing your child). In addition, I have completed both Level I and Level II of Complicated Grief Therapy training through the Columbia School of Social Work in NYC.

My work includes helping individuals and couples who have experienced traumatic loss—death of a child, sudden death, suicide and homicide. My clients also include those who struggle through normal grief reactions associated with the death of a loved one, as well as those dealing with complicated grief reactions.

In addition to grief and loss counseling, I am experienced in helping clients address a range of situations and challenges, including relationship and intimacy issues, life transitions, anxiety and depression, low self-esteem, and Bi-cultural issues. I completed a two-year advanced training program in couples and family therapy at The Washington Center for Psychoanalysis.
